Bruce’s concentration is in all aspects of China and International IP Law. He is an expert in various trademark prosecution proceedings before the China IP Office (“CIPO”) and Chinese courts, including oppositions, cancellation actions, refusal reviews, and invalidation actions. He has substantial expertise in relation to the enforcement of trademark rights in China. He also specializes in copyright recordation and litigation, and in domain name registration, dispute resolution, and litigation.

Bruce worked for a famous IP firm for many years before he joined GoldenGate Lawyers in 2010.

• Represented a UK company before Guangzhou IP Court, Guangdong Higher Court, and the Supreme Court in a trademark infringement case ranked in the 2018 Top 10 IP Cases of Guangdong Province and 2018 China Courts’ 50 Typical Cases released by the Supreme Court.
• Represented a US outdoors brand in trademark right enforcement before various local courts around China for more than 10 years.
• Represented a world top luxury hotel brand in trademark right enforcement before various local courts around China for more than 10 years.
• Represented a famous Japanese cartoon maker in copyright enforcement before Beijing Chaoyang Court.
• Represented a Brazilian company before local courts in trademark right enforcement around China for many years.
• Represented a US company before Beijing First Intermediate Court and High Court in administrative lawsuits against the previous TRAB and obtained decisions reversing the TRAB.
• Represented a French company before the CIETAC Domain Name Dispute Resolution Center and then before Beijing First Intermediate Court in a domain dispute and obtained favorable decisions.
• Represented many domestic and foreign companies before CIPO in trademark registrations, oppositions, cancellations, invalidations, and refusal reviews.
